Meet the Chiefs of the North Massapequa Fire Department
The Chiefs of the Department are elected to their positions on a yearly basis. Being a Chief requires a tremendous amount of dedication and work in order for the position to be done correctly. These individuals serve as the representative of the department at various meetings, organizations throughout Nassau County, New York State and the Nation.

Stephen Shirreffs
Resident of North Massapequa since 1957.
Sworn into the North Massapequa Fire Department in November 10, 1994.
Elected 2nd Lieutenant in February 1997.
Elected 1st Lieutenant in April 1998.
Elected Captain of Hose & Engine Co.2 in April 1999 and Served a second term in April 2002.
Elected Third Assistant Chief in April 2004. |

Resident of North Massapequa since 1994.
Sworn into the North Massapequa Fire Department January 12, 1995.
Elected 2nd Lieutenant in February 2000.
Elected 1st Lieutenant in April 2002.
Elected Captain Ladder Co.1 in April 2004
Elected Third Assistant Chief in April 2006.
